Distance Education is an established and recognized mode of education, the world over, which is in consonance with changing socio-economic needs and emerging demands of the knowledge era. Keeping in view the open university system and long standing demand of heterogeneous group of students community, DVS Institute has collaborated Directorate of Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) of UGC recognised Universities with appropriate approval and has started a wide spectrum of Courses in Distance Education.
The programmes range from conventional to management and technical as per needs of the area and employment opportunities available in the country. In order to meet the growing demand of computer education and the dynamical changing environment of the corporate world DVS Institute with its experience and expertise in distance learning launched programmes in Computer/IT and management and other allied areas as information centre of UGC recognised University. These programmes are telescopic in nature wherein a relevant certificate/degree is awarded after completion of the course by University. Moreover to provide greater choice and flexibility to students, provision for lateral entry in various programmes has been adopted as per University norms.
The institute aims to achieve and excel the high standards of education. The traditional classroom teaching is supplemented by regular test, tutorials, extensive lab/project work, seminars & industrial exposure by way of LIVE PROJECTS of relevant domain. Presently, the DVS Institute is imparting education to more than 5 thousand students through its network of information centres. At present, DVS Institute operates through as University information centres recognized by the University which are spread over various states of the country and growing day by day. The reasons for the popularity of its programmes have been mainly on account of carefully designed curriculum by the University, well planned teaching-learning strategies, effective student support system.
The teaching-learning strategies employed for effective dissemination of knowledge and to mitigate the feeling of isolation of distance learners include printed study material in SIM, Sunday and other holiday classes at our information centres, Personal Contact Programme (PCP), Assignments, Internal Tests, Projects, Field Work and well established labs. The excellent technical libraries include facility of E-mail, Internet, CD-ROM and practical’s. In addition to above, Face to Face(F2F) and telephone counselling is provided to distance learners by in house faculty from its headquarter and by resource persons at respective information centres.
